Operator Control Booth (OCB)
There are two Operator Control Booths (OCB) that provide protective shelter for the test operators and house the interface and control apparatus for the PETS. The first OCB is used for repetitive test operations such as endurance and reliability testing. The second OCB is used for developmental testing and has expanded instrumentation and monitoring capability to accommodate customer engineers.
The OCB is normally located at least 100 feet from the TRT and is connected to the TRT with two cables. One cable is the electrical power cable. The second cable contains the command, control, and communications link between the two trailers. Both control booths have a weather station installed and are environmentally controlled. They are armor plated and bulletproof windows. The trailer is easily transported or repositioned utilizing any vehicle equipped to tow utility trailers. The first control booth (OCB-1) is located in a customized cargo trailer.

Engine Ground Testing Statement of Capability The second control booth is located in a customized 40-foot long cargo container, mounted on a tow vehicle. It’s primary purpose is to provide increased capability for developmental testing.
Operator Control Booth #2
The operation of the PETS is conducted in one of two modes. (1) The first mode is referred to as manual mode. In manual mode the operator monitors conditions and makes input commands to the system. The ATD system is in a “watch dog” mode and will not allow the operator to exceed any preset limits or command dangerous actions.
(2) The second mode is the automated mode. In automated mode, the operator monitor conditions and the ATD directs the conduct of the testing. The same “watch dog” features exist in this mode.
The OCB-2 has numerous features to support customer engineers. There is an operator interface display, which shows what the engine operator sees on the display. There are network connections, which allow the observer to monitor data channels in real time. There is Internet access and real time data analysis.
